Core 4 Training for Undergraduate Research Assistants

The Shaw Center offers training to undergraduate research assistants for faculty affiliates. The Core 4 training includes topics that would be useful to all RAs who are helping with research at the Shaw Center: Orientation and Professional Development, Research Ethics with Vulnerable Populations, Engaging Children in Research, and Cultural Competency.

We will be offering these Core 4 training sessions at two different time points at the beginning of each semester.

The schedule for Spring 2024 is:

1. Orientation and Professional Development and 2. Engaging Children in Research
  • Friday, 2/2 12:30-2:30 pm - Shaw Center

3. Research Ethics with Vulnerable Populations and 4. Cultural Competency

  • Friday, 2/9 12:30-2:00 pm - Corbett 376
Additional training sessions are available by request including the topics of:
  • safe home visiting,

Please let Jen Burke Lefever or Heidi Miller know if you have any questions. We are very excited to offer this training and hope it will be helpful to the work that you all are doing!
