Participating in research at the Shaw Center gives you the unique opportunity to directly shape the future of child and family well-being right here in our community. Every family’s story and experience are different, and by sharing yours, you help our researchers understand what children and parents truly need to navigate challenges, build healthy relationships, and thrive. Not only do many of our studies offer direct benefits, such as access to innovative programs, practical resources, and compensation for your time, but your involvement also ensures that future psychological services and community support programs are grounded in real, diverse experiences.

Strong Roots

Parents will complete an online survey answering questions about themself, their children, and their community. Additionally, one parent and the kids will visit our lab in Corbett Family hall on Notre Dame's campus for roughly 2-4 hours to complete interviews and family tasks. Visit length will depend on the number of children attenting the visit, how long they take to complete their tasks, and survey completion. If the parent completes teh online surverys beforehand, the visit to our labe will be a little shorter. Families can earn up to $120 for participating with one child and $160 for participating with two children.
