Madeline Smethurst

Maddy is broadly interested in understanding how parental psychopathology and violence exposure during the perinatal period impact parenting behaviors, child emotion regulation trajectories, and other aspects of child development. Through her research, she hopes to identify protective factors that can be leveraged at the community-level and inform preventative intervention for families exposed to adversity.
